Valley Arts 1989 Custom Pro Lukathur Style - Lukathur colors etc.
Almost museum grade condition - all original - Small Nick near interlok hole - see photos
Solid Maple - INCREDIBLE burst! Beyond beautful
INTERLOK neck - only 16 made in the world - according to Michael Casswell (Valley Arts Collector). the neck has never been off the guitar which is great.
Ebony Fretboard - beautiful large chunk of Black Ebony
Thin line neck
This guitar had one owner since 1989 - Never out of home or gigged - Not played alot
I purchased it (I am the second) - Never out of home and never gigged - Not played alot
Everything is original - Early Floyd Rose (YES), EMG's, Frets. Original knobs come with guitar and are a bit faded and newer upgrades were added as shown in photos. (So again - all original parts are with the guitar). The strap locks were apparently in the guitar when sold from the dealer and are affixed to - believe it or not - the Original Valley Arts strap. Black Fret Guard from Valley Arts, valley arts button for your shirt - just incredible original case candy. Crazy.
Case - Original with a Valley Arts sticker and buttons.
Playing This Guitar:
Like all of Mike McGuire's models - outplays anything (I have 40 years of industry experience, pro player, owned over 100 guitars - there is NOTHING like these period. I owned and helped design the first Tom Anderson #1 in Tom's garage which he hand made for me and that did not come close to this guitar in playability). Tom is great but a different approach.
The EMG's work as they should, the Floyd and Fret wear is minimal
I was with Mike McGuire at his shop in the 80's and played David Bowie's guitarists Custom Pro and frankly it was a dream but this one still beats it by a bit. Of course Bowie's guitarist whom I met that day had some big hands and custom specs.
The neck is very slim as Lukathur and McGuire apparently planned
The neck is a bit wider at the nut than a Fender/Gibson 1.687 or so but incredibly comfortable.
The Interlok neck is in my opinion amazing! The neck joint is incredible
Resonance and Sustain - is awesome - All maple hard rock wood with the interlok neck joint
Deep strong sound for any music genre from jazz to metal
Issues:
The original owner smoked cigs - so the case and guitar smell a bit . My wife is incredibly sensitive and allergic to Cigarettes and she has never noticed to give you an idea :) LOL.
Player, Collector whatever - this guitar rocks. Do not pass it up. It is 1 of 16 made of all Valley Arts Guitars
Time for me to downsize in life and I play and enjoy classical guitar
