This is a one off, custom crafted early Valley Arts Guitar. It was custom made for guitarist, Steve Farris, from the Grammy winning combo Mr. Mister and bears his nameplate (see pix). It’s got # 0158 etched on the name plate and stamped on the back of the headstock.
It was hand crafted at the original North Hollywood Shop. It’s a total touring guitar with all active EMG electronics (one Humbucker, 2 Single Coils and two EMG tone shaping knobs). The 9v battery sits inside the pickguard as its maintenance was handled by a road tech.
The body is smaller than a standard Stratocaster but the neck, pickguard and 25.5” scale length are all standard. The many coats of lemon ivory metal flake lacquer paint job is in decent shape and very “50s Hot Rod”, beautiful to behold as, it catches the light in a fantastic glow! The neck is also done in an amazing Birdseye Maple.
It has its original early Floyd Rose Tremolo that operates perfectly. It was upgraded with a cool trem-stop and special Floyd Rose springs. It also has an Eddie Van Halen Fender Drop-D installed.
