This is a custom bass made in 1981, one of the earliest by ValleyArtsUSA, a custom guitar shop on the west coast of the Unite d States that was used by Abraham Laboriel and Leland Sklar. Warmoth maple top alder back flat top body with a herringbone on the neck that appears to be a DiMarzio (Boogie Body?) fender head and perferro fingerboard. In particular, the body looks e xactly like the 8-string bass body that Abe uses in Koinonia. 2V1T passive wiring with DiMarzio J-style PU and push-push switc h pot with coil tap. The neck is very strong and in a slightly warped condition. The truss rod can turn left and right with plenty of room. The string height is currently about 2mm. I don't see any problems. Valley Arts, which has a double-digit serial number, was in the golden age of the studio, and all the instruments are extremely well made, and you can clearly see that Mike McGuir e's eye was on them. The original owner's name is on the serial plate, neck, and neck pocket, indicating that everything is made to order.
Comes with a non-original tweed hard case.
